We are only just understanding and adapting to the 5G network and overcoming the paranoia about its antennas, and we are already starting to talk about the 6G network. Well yes, it seems that this technology is already starting to take its first steps or at least it is expected that in 2028 we are already starting a new stage of adaptation to this network that promises to offer much more speed, capacity and also coverage.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>

Maybe it’s an environmental issue, the sheer amount of data we use or just the fact that we need to send large packets of information, but the 5G network is going to be replaced quickly. It was launched in 2019 just barely and hadn’t been able to be used properly until recently, but already many are putting an end time on it, expecting the 6G network to arrive very quickly.<\/p>\n

However, the 5G network may not die so quickly, as it is only just beginning to be used in the world’s major powers, such as the United Arab Emirates, Finland, the United States, South Korea, China, Germany, Australia, among others. However, it is already essential for industries to start planning the deployment of the sixth generation of communications, which may begin in 2028, but should be completed by 2030.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>

Actually, these plans seem to be part of what the industry recognises as XR or X Reality, which is the combination of AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality). This combination aims to create mixed real and virtual environments that have real time interactions, not only between humans, but also between machines. For this new technology to work and deliver all the benefits it has, a new communication network is needed, which is why everyone involved or knowledgeable in this matter wants 6G network deployments as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

The 6G network will also seek to keep more devices connected at the same time, such is the case with drone crowding. Moreover, this new network can reach much further than its predecessors, which would certainly be a plus”” to help connect those communities, towns or regions where mobile network coverage is very low or simply non-existent.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>

Obviously, one of the most important features of any new generation of mobile network is the data transmission speed it offers. To give you an idea, the 5G network can connect at 20 Gbps, that’s the maximum speed it can give, however, users can experience on average 120 Megabits per second. For the 6G network these amounts increase exponentially, the maximum speed of the sixth generation networks reach 1,000 Gbps and users will be able to experience a speed of 1 Gbps on average. These speeds are adequate for the XR application to function, as well as new communications that may become holographic.<\/p>\n

This new generation of communication will complement very well with technologies that are trending now and will bring many solutions in the future. Such is the case of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, thanks to that new network, it is possible that many of these technologies will revolutionise the world.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
