In Spain, modernisation of SMEs is currently being pursued, in which small and medium-sized companies are expected to increase their turnover, as modernisation will improve their production, ways of attracting customers, and their ability to achieve better results. However, digitisation is not a one-day thing, nor is it cheap, so a Digital Kit has been created with more than 3 billion Euros, which will be of great help to these companies to achieve digitisation. But not only for SMEs, but also for the self-employed.

Each SME will have the possibility to receive up to 12,000 euros to obtain digitalisation, which will be of great benefit to companies, Spaniards and the whole country. This is a plan that has been promoted by the government, which undoubtedly wants to push small and medium-sized companies in a new direction in which they can reach new goals, be more competitive and efficient. But this not only benefits SMEs, but also the self-employed who need more digitalisation to obtain better benefits from the services or products they offer.

The self-employed would not receive 12,000 euros, however, they could be receiving a not inconsiderable amount of 2,000 euros. Thanks to these amounts of money, many companies in the country will be able to see an improvement. Undoubtedly, this new modernisation is necessary to offer better services to the citizens, something that will make the economy grow in many places, especially in southern areas.

The importance of this digitalisation is the impact it can have on the country’s economy, because a large part of the companies are made up of SMEs and the self-employed. Thanks to this idea of digitising small, medium-sized companies and additionally the self-employed, it will be possible to see a great change in the future of the nation, in which even, many ideas of products and services will benefit the Spanish people, in addition they will improve the economy enormously.

It seems that many of the SMEs in Spain are having problems in achieving digitalisation because they do not have the money, tools or resources to help them reach this new step in the industry. It is necessary that companies that are not yet modernised start to do so, especially those old companies that do not know where to start. It is important that they have this support from the government, and therefore they will receive this monetary aid.

SMEs must agree

One of the challenges for the digitisation of these companies is that SME owners agree that digitisation is good for their business. Because they have been working in the traditional way for years without making major changes, many seem to believe that they do not need to modernise, which is wrong. It is believed that once they start digitising, they will notice the changes in sales and get better results, as through digitisation their processes will be more productive and efficient than before.

As soon as they understand that this digitalisation will offer better returns, SMEs will surely start to change their mindset and start to be modernised. However, at some point they have to achieve digitalisation, so they should take advantage of the help they have now. It will be a job that will take years, but it will certainly bring benefits to citizens, self-employed and SMEs, all will come out with advantages from this kind of schemes created by the Government to help companies to easily go digital.
